Maoyu ma
Very authentic Hunan modern style Chinese food. The decoration and seating is very nice. If you come at week end, be prepared to wait 45 minutes. The 3 flavor eggplant is super delicious. Steamed pork ribs with sticky rice and corn combined the flavor very well. Most of the dishes here are on high level spicy, sometimes they can get too spicy. Will come back to try more dishes.

The chef was good. The dishes was delicious. The receptionist was friendly. Then why would I give one star here? It was a waiter in the restaurant. I ordered rice and he did not bring that after all the dishes were on the table, which I totally felt OK because he might just have forgotten that. Later I asked directly to him, "can you bring me some rice?". He looked at me while I was saying that, which ensured that he at least knew I needed something. But he did not respond, and he simply kept arranging chopsticks, which was not urgent at all. What's even worse? Another guest noticed that the waiter did not respond to my need of rice, so he also asked the waiter to listen to my need. Even after that, the waiter did not respond and simply walked away and did not bring me rice in the end. Can you imagine? If it was not for another waiter, I might not even get rice at all today. While others were working so hard to bring good experience to the customers, this waiter just tried to spoil everyone's effort. What a shame to him. I held myself from taking a picture of him to show his face to everyone because, different from him, I am civilized.

Would’ve been better with a bigger party (we only had a party of 2). Food was pretty good but the rice didn’t taste very fresh. The flavors for the fried lamp chops and three flavored eggplants were good.

Pretty good food! This place is decently crowded but we were able to reserve a table for lunch. Some of the dishes were slightly on the saltier side, but the lamb and the fish specials were so good!

We love this place for authentic food! If you're used to American Chinese food, you'll find some dishes at the back of the menu. Dishes are spicy here so mind the pepper rating (one pepper was hot enough for us!). Some of the tables are awkward to sit at because they have a leg right where your knees would be when sitting. Other than that, come early to avoid the line!
